Course length

Full Time - 2 weeks plus 3 days- Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm.  

Part Time - Entry level 7 weeks. Mon. Tues & Wed. 6pm to 9pm
 

Pre requisites
Year 10 or equivalent. Acceptable oral and written skills in English and Math
Under 18 must have parent or guardians written permission.

Occupation Outcome
Qualified Certificate II Nail Technician. Work opportunities in Beauty Salons, Hairdressers, Nail Salons, Own Business, Wholesalers, Department Stores, Holiday Resorts, Cruise Liners, Aged Care Homes.

Further Pathways
This qualification can be used as a pathway to further study for Cert. III in Beauty.

Issue of Qualification
Certificate is issued upon the successful completion of all units of competencies.

Delivery and Study
Delivery by Educator utilising Industry Text Book, videos, overheads, handouts, games, demonstration and practice. Study by homework, in class study, group study, home assignments. Competency based. Requires self discipline for study and practice.

• Apply techniques to update beauty industry knowledge

• Apply knowledge of nail science to nail services

• Perform routine housekeeping duties
• Sell products and services
• Apply Acrylic nail enhancement
• Use electrical equipment for nails (drill, imported from Cert III)*
• Apply Nail Art 
• Apply Gel nail enhancement

Assessment
Many units are assessed by observation throughout the course. Homework assignment is compulsory. Own pace home learning is used for theory.
Competency based skills assessment. Competent or Not Yet Competent
Finals 2 X practical at end of course. Theory . 1 final theory in own time.

Tuition Fees
Deposit of $350 non refundable. Balance maybe paid in advance of training or by direct deposit payment plan. A visit to the school office is required for this.
